====== Minarchism ======
**Minarchism** is a term coined by [[Samuel Edward Konkin III]] to refer to a broad set of [[libertarian]] ideologies embracing so-called "limited government" (i.e. a government whose powers are greatly restricted, often by a constitution).

Minarchists who believe in natural rights typically believe that government is necessary, but that its functions should be restricted to protecting the rights of its subjects. [[start|Agorists]] explicitly reject this argument for minarchism, arguing that governments must violate rights in order to exist. Agorists advocate [[anarchism]] instead of minarchism.
